International travel is an experience that is available to all, but enjoyed by few. The purpose of this 501(c)(3) nonprofit is to enhance and expand the world life experience of high school students in the Philadelphia PA area who may not otherwise be able to enjoy the experience of international travel. Opening up their eyes and minds, exposing them to all the many cultures the world has to offer beyond their doorsteps and neighborhoods.
During my travel to Spain, I gained a new perspective on how people from other countries live. The beautiful landscapes, diverse culture, and delicious food were all very enlightening. It made me realize how different we are from those who live in another part of the world. The historic cities and towns we visited were very intriguing to learn about. For instance, we had the opportunity to tour a medieval castle in Segovia, Spain.
While traveling in a foreign country, it's essential to keep an open mind about everything you experience. For example, in America, a typical breakfast might include pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. However, in Spain, a typical breakfast usually consists of various meats, croissants, and warm milk (yes, warm milk). Although it might seem strange to us, it's just the way they do things there.
Overall, I had an amazing time in Spain, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have visited such a beautiful country.
The idea of traveling was always weary to me, I didn’t travel; I never even left the country! So never did I think I would go to Costa Rica! On a school trip at that. It was such a fascinating experience and it also humbled me in a way; to see and experience challenges everyone has to deal with, it made me appreciate home! If I had the chance to do it again I would.
Our trip to Spain was like stepping into a living history book! Dr. Butler, our teacher and trip planner extraordinaire, made sure every day was packed with exciting adventures. From the mesmerizing architecture of Barcelona to the rich history of Toledo, this journey was a perfect blend of education and fun. Gracias, Dr. Butler, for turning our classroom into the streets of Spain and giving us an experience I will treasure forever.
